Introduction: A degenerative disease which is one of the cardiovascular diseases with a high number of sufferers is hypertension. The impact non-compliance with taking medication can cause complications such as damage to organs such as the brain because uncontrolled hypertension can increase the workload of the heart which will cause heart enlargement thereby increasing the risk of heart failure and heart attack
Objectives: This research was to describe the factors causing non-adherence to hypertension medication in the community in the working area of the Sukmajaya Health Center, Depok.
Method: This research uses descriptive-analytical research methods. Data collection used offline observation and interview activities in the working area of the Sukmajaya Community Health Center, precisely in the RW.02 Environment, Mekarjaya Village, Kec. Sukmajaya, Depok City, which will take place from September 2022 to February 2023. Data analysis uses the Ichikawa (Fishbone) Diagram.
Result: It is known that 261 hypertension sufferers do not comply with taking medication in Mekarjaya Village. The research results show that family support influences adherence to taking hypertension medication.
Conclusion: Lack of concern from family members in terms of reminding them to take medication regularly, for this reason, there is a need for a health promotion program for OBEY in taking hypertension medication using a family and media approach to family members. to control medication adherence in hypertension sufferers. An alternative control solution that can be implemented is to approach the family with the PATUH medicine box media.
